In this beginning workshop appropriate for beginners to advanced, we will learn some basics of both the silks and core conditioning using other apparatus such as the Lyra (hanging hoop). We will explore ways to move in and out poses suitable to all flyers. We begin with a basic Lyra warm-up in order to stretch and strengthen the body and prepare us to fly safely and comfortably on the Lyra. When we focus on proper technique and alignment, we are readily able to access new poses and transitions. Students will leave the class with a pocket full of poses above, below and within the Lyra, and knowledge of various mounts and dismounts.
